Simple Lovefest: A Letter of Gratitude

During these four winding years of carefully honing my skills and virtues to my chosen profession in college, I admit there’s a specific point in my life that I thought I cannot go any longer. It felt like I’ve been swallowed up by lots of pressure in school. I was lowly, yet belittled and misunderstood by some.

But then I started to hold on steadfastly to God and to my principles in life, as Philippians 4:13 conveys, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me; He shall supply all our needs.” With the help and moral support of those people I dearly adore, I was highly motivated to win all difficulties and trials that once hindered my way to success. I endured everything while keeping my feet on the ground, cherish every endeavor, and aim for the best. Now I finally made it possible, it was such a rewarding feeling to recognize these people who supported me and trusted my capabilities.

First, to our Almighty Father for the immeasurable source of blessings, strength, knowledge, and patience. He truly deserves all the praises and thanks. Without Him, all are impossible in this world.

The sincerest gratitude I give to my only one and much-adored family, especially to my ever supportive and loving parents, Ronaldo and Lani Aguacito, who patiently sacrificed everything just to provide us the things that we need in school and at home. They served as my true inspiration and role model. Their words of encouragement aided me much to be a better and responsible person.

To my classmates and friends: Crisanette Legaspi, Shaira de Guzman, Charles Rubio, Lioneil de Villa, Niña de Vera, Paolo Jacinto, Darren Dalope, Michael Alapar, Ervin Violago, and the rest of the Paulinian community, who altruistically shared their unique life to one another, and kept the spirit of teamwork and camaraderie in times of trouble and triumph. I might not enjoyed my college life without you guys. It’s a great pleasure to be part of your lives.

A True Hell Week

This passed week has been too much like hell for me. I've been tormented every night by series of heavy dilemmas, and it seemed to me that I couldn't get out of them easily. Aside from having no more money left on my wallet and lack of time to review for difficult exams, the documents for my dissertation were ALL corrupted, without any back-up files to relieve my worries. My 2G-capacity flash drive had been attacked by notorious, totally-frustrating worm virus. Out of desperation, I just rewrite anything from the very start, but I couldn't recall all the good ideas. Ironically, this is the best birthday gift for me! I was really stunned.

Still fortunate enough, my professor hasn't deleted the copies of my documents so I was able to retrieve all of them. Yeah, I smiled a lot! But I already learned my lesson, so I hurriedly created a back-up file to my email accounts and online storage, even gave a copy of my documents to my friends' flash drives to be 101% sure I won't be wasting another couple of days lamenting with my deceased corrupted files. Now I'm back in the game, but I'm already left behind. Doh.

What If We All Become Strict Vegetarians?

Due to the presence of various fatal, communicable illness today, we sometimes feel that turning into a strict vegan is the only one of the best ways towards a healthy living. As a result, many people are already trying to eliminate red meat on their dinner plates. Plus, these international animal welfare organizations are in utmost advocacy now.

But have you ever thought of when all these 6.7 billion people, including me and you, from different parts of the globe are successfully transformed into the highest intellectual living herbivores? Well, there are three really silly, exaggerated possibilities which I think might happen by the time when all these strange things occur. These are just product of a creative mind. :)

1. Eating any kinds of meat will be extinct. Ready yourselves to substitute the famous stars of the holidays like sweet hams every Yuletide and turkeys every Thanksgiving. Spaghetti, lasagna and other Italian pasta have to be cheese-out. Pastries and desserts are no longer using milk to make them. Asian, Greek and Caesar salad will be the restaurant's best asset, to replace well-done steaks and roasted chicken. Mr. Potato Head will be a celebrity mascot.

2. The population of domesticated animals that we used to consume before like pigs, cows, chickens, and sheep will increase dramatically. People might choose just to take them as pets. And you will surely notice, the idea of "killing animals for food" will be instinct. Animals will wander down the streets freely. You will see them even cross the pedestrians, just like what humans do.

3. There will be an imbalance in nature. The release of carbon dioxide from people and animals will be uncontrollable and will continue to increase. Plants will still keep the world green and fresh but they're getting few, not proper to sustain the satisfaction of all the herbivores' stomach. Thus, some people will be urged to discover a new meal from impossible-to-eat plants.

People do not know that I have these real long-time frustration about being a sports enthusiast. When I was in my early adolescence, I'm on the verge of blaming myself for not being into the world where my favorites like LeBron James and Dwight Howard are making such a good reputation. In my case, I think the sources are more internal, like lack of confidence and talent. But I haven't been, and will NEVER be, into a moment that I should be violent and depressed to fulfill this personal fantasy. That's in another impossible chapter, a shoot-to-kill story.

Game 7 has been the most coveted part of any race-to-seven series since it only happens just once in a blue moon. And NBA Finals 2010 really never fails me. The rivalry between Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics has gone until the final curtain call.

Finally, everyone realized that this year is for the L.A. Lakers again, as well as for Kobe Bryant. Although I'm also considering Celtics as a great team (and threat), I've been truly rooting for Lakers since this Playoffs season started. Set aside ~~mocking~~.

I slightly hate my speech imperfection. Seriously, I have a speech sound defect. My voice box cannot produce any 'R' sounds correctly. Some friends of mine make fun of me a bit, like say "rural, ruler, roller" as many as I can. But in the end, it sounded too conyo for me. Epic fail.

But I think I'm still not far lucky enough. Some people, even famous personalities we've known for so long, are being spelled under these disorders like stuttering, cluttering, and lisp.

What's the difference then? Both can offer huge fame and heaps of enthusiastic fans, but who can give you a lasting effect?

Music industry is a little buoyant. Nowadays, YouTube has been the sturdy stepping stone for the amateur artists who want instant fame. Browse the site itself and you'll find thousands of aspirants, waiting to be noticed by talent agents.

But here's the point. You might not have the best vocal power or be a music genius to be called as somewhat "successful" and "renowned" music artist. If you have the charisma, and yeah, looks, you can easily surpass other great artists. Let's all admit that not all of them are really gifted vocally, to name a few - Paris Hilton, Jesse McCartney and Britney Spears, but they're freakingly famous. I agree it's not the voice alone as the major criteria, but the audience find it a good talent for those who have an excellent voice. For sure we'll be surprised if one day the Billboard has already become the habitat of stereotypes.

Unlike in the music industry, sports has been more demanding. You cannot be just an ordinary or average player. And really, I've never heard a very well-known athlete who plays okay on his entire career. Superstars like Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods or David Beckham will never be in the limelight of sports industry if they would just be contented to be mediocre. They outshone every other athlete because of their remarkable performances.

However, obviously it's really an arduous road for the novices for them to have a good turn since those great athlete are whom given a massive break. It will take you as much as years to establish a good name in the sports industry.

The Most Annoying Word

"Oh well, WHATEVER. Never mind."

Seems like this 8-letter word has the biggest impact even in simple conversations. Really, if the person says this to you while you are explaining something, feels like you want to punch him with knuckles directly on his face.

Whatever, according to Discovery News, crowned as the most annoying word above "you know," "at the end of the day," and "it is what it is". Even more frustrating to hear with 'WHAT-ehv-urr', almost 47% of the total respondents in a survey held by Marist College agreed on its nerve-wracking power.

That was in the United States. I haven't heard any of the schools here in Manila conducting polls with the same subject. Maybe I could share my own most annoying words or phrases I genuinely hate to hear from a person, especially from a Pinoy.

1. "Ano ngayon?" ("So what?") - Feels like you're talking to a red boxing glove and then suddenly it blows forcefully into your chest. It will leave you mentally uncomfortable and speechless.

2. "Wala akong pakialam." ("I don't care anyway.") - This can give you a tormenting, grudging emotion. You're likely to talk into a dummy or a brick wall. It implies superlative negligence.

3. "K." - Many of us are victims, at the same time, guilty with this. It is actually a short, lazy version of "okay". Filipinos are fond of texting, axing the unnecessary letters, making it shorter to easily convey your message in a limited character. Imagine yourself in an SMS fight, making every point clear, thus, sending numerous parts of your message, and then this person replied to you with a single letter "K"? Excruciating.

My Last 'First'

Time flies so fast. I can still remember my very first day in college. I was clueless, nervous, trying to gain some confidence. Everybody's a total stranger for me. I didn't know what to expect. I was in a perfect, mild culture shock. But now, I try to look at myself in the mirror. It's been three years ago. And it all came down to my last 'first'. My last first day of school.

Since it's already my senior year in college, this is my last chance of feeling the same way what the undergrad students are feeling, too. Maybe I felt it the least. The feeling of "hurray!-this-is-my-last-year-here" was primarily governing my mind. I'm fully excited to see my Paulinian friends again, yet I see same bunch of faces.

Now I know what to expect at this moment. Academic papers, research, internship, laboratory, pressure. But I'm only aiming for this one - GRADUATION!

QTV's "Ang Pinaka" is a gift from heaven! I was roaming around the Web, searching for restaurants where our family can dine without costing too much. Then last night, I was surprised that the show has been able to list down the most affordable restos mainly around Metro Manila. Well, dishes must be not more than 200 bucks and ultimately satisfying to be considered as totally sulit. I jot down all the information and have those here.

10. Persia Grill

My taste buds are into the Asian cuisine. I have tasted some of Mediterranean dishes like that in Souk Café, but I haven't tried the same kind of cuisine infused with Pinoy style. The ambiance is compelling as I've seen it on TV - classy, looks like a fine dining resto.

9. Charlie's Grind and Grill

Now this is pretty extraordinary. Burger patties and fries are handmade. The chain is located beside a car wash. Too American. My dad will surely love this.

8. Buffalo's Wings n' Things

Okay, chickens anyone? I think I would like their spicy chicken. If I would be really craving for wings, this is the place.

7. Ya Kun Kaya Toast

One of my favorites in the countdown. If only they fail to include the Toast, people will obviously thought this is an ordinary Chinese shabu-shabu, or noodle house. It's actually a Singaporean breakfast chain. Yeah, toast. Special toasts. I like the sprinkled Milo thing on top with condensed milk. Be sure to pay a visit after your overnight trip.

6. Burger Avenue

Home of the Ridiculous Burger, and the Ridiculous Challenge. For less than five minutes, consume the 3-patty burger and you'll get it for free. Pretty impressive gimmick. I think my dad should do the honors. He's the best burger eater.

5. Yen Yen Taiwan Street Foods

You'll not be literally eating along the streets so set aside your worries. Let's put it in this way - it's a small food chain selling Taiwanese street foods. The good thing is they use authentic Taiwanese condiments to catch the genuine taste of Taiwanese street foods. Interesting.

4. Good Burgers

I'll give a standing ovation for this! At last, a perfect burger for vegetarians and/or health conscious. Well I'm neither of the two, but I love their dishes. From the whole wheat buns to the veggie patties, everything is good for the health under your 200-Peso budget. That's a big WOW.

3. Masuki Mami House

I've been in so many Chinese restaurants already so this makes me feel predictable. But hey, I want to try their pingpong ball-sized siomai and asado siopao since these are great Chinese comfort foods. My grandparents will enjoy their dine here.

2. Mexican Express

Burritos, nachos, chimichanga - three Mexican foods I'm rooting for. And I think the best of those will only be found here. I was not jumping up and down, but I'm still looking forward to this.

1. Adobo 'To!

Thank God above for the Pinoy adobo! I'm a huge fan. I mean, adobo has been my closest friend since birth. And I already know where I could taste different variations of it. Adobo with cheese, adobo with coconut milk, spicy adobo - name it, they all have it. Minus the garage-looking dining area, I think even for 75 bucks, I'll be satisfied. And this IS what you call sulit.

Who among the youths of today like me ain't familiar with these chart-topping R&B songs like Nothin' On You and Billionaire? We've been listening these on the radio, watching their music videos on YouTube, or memorizing the lyrics because we definitely love the songs. Yeah, we all know it's the awesome voice of Bruno Mars in chorus and bridges, but little we still do not know is that, he's a Filipino, too.

Though not full-blooded Pinoy, this amazing music man, like Nicole Scherzinger of PCD, is starting to establish a name in the international music industry. Aside from those two songs mentioned above, he also co-wrote Flo Rida's Right Round, an early big hit last year. Actually, I got the news about his citizenship through Tim Yap's Twitter update.

Peter Hernandez (Bruno Mars's real name) was born and raised in Hawaii. Her mother, Bernadette San Pedro Bayot-Hernandez, is a Filipina, while his father, Pete Hernandez, is a Puerto Rican. Thanks to his honest, fresh R&B soul talent, he emerged differently from any other rising stars.

Guatemala's Second 'Hole'

I was shocked and frightened at the same time after seeing this photo of a massive sinkhole created last May in Guatemala City that swallowed a factory and killed 3 people.

Yeah, it's odd but it's real. This deadly hole is approximately 18 meters (60 ft) wide and 60 meters (200 ft) deep. It was said to be developed after a typhoon.

Scary. But this ain't the first time unlucky Guatemala City had this kind of sinkhole. It was three years ago (2007), a deeper hole was created due to the fluid from a sewer that dissolves the rock beneath the surface. It is said to be 100 meters (330 ft) deep, too deep that it can swallow the whole Statue of Liberty, or even two of its kind.

After numerous weeks of hard court actions and bitter eliminations, NBA Playoffs 2010 has narrowed down the choice between two strong teams for the finals. Well, the heat of the competition stays after Los Angeles Lakers swept off Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference semi-finals in a 4 - 2 series victory. On the other hand, Boston Celtics grabbed a spot in the finals ahead of Lakers having a 4 non-consecutive win over Orlando Magic who struggled in the first three semi-final games. Yeah, it's all down to a Lakers-Celtics game... again.

We already saw both teams face-to-face in the 2008 NBA Playoffs Finals. Now, it feels like I'm getting a deja vu for this season. Celts won the race-to-7 championship, leaving Lakers an embarrassing loss. Which team will emerge this year? Game 1 starts live on June 3 (US), June 4 (PHL).

The Longest Daytime Darkness of The 21st Century

I heard on the news last night about this total solar eclipse that will occur in some parts of Asia, so I browse the web and got some information about this incredible celestial phenomenon. Then, I just found out that this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience because this roughly 6 1/2-minute eclipse is (they say) the longest occurrence among all solar eclipses of this century, and it will never be as long as this until year 2132. So last night before going to bed, I set my mind that I really ought to see this!

The total darkness will occur mostly in central Asian countries like India and China, and here in the Philippines, it will only be partial. This will be my first time to witness a solar eclipse, and I eagerly want to see the moon covering the sun, though sadly, it's only partial so I'm only expecting just about 1/4 of the sun will be covered. The early morning news announced that the covering of the moon will be clearly seen at 8:33 am and will last for about 3 hours.

It's 8 am and I feel like celebrating, with a bit of cold feet. I keep on checking the sun, but it was past 8:45 am when looked at it with a piece of camera film, and I saw the moon covering about 30% of the sun's bottom-right part. It's intensely and definitely cool! And so I got the whole family with me to see it, too.

It maybe fascinate us, but in other countries like in India and Thailand, people, especially the pregnant women, tend to hide themselves inside their home or pray inside the temples for believing that the sudden daytime darkness carries bad omen.

On the other hand, China synchronized the eclipse with simultaneous wonderful fireworks display. While in Japan, many had to take themselves in a safe place due to a tornado warning. But here's the funny thing:

Some villagers reported that their cows gathered at a feeding station, apparently mistaking the eclipse as a signal that it was dinner time, he said.

Others may have some impressions about the said eclipse, but appreciating this special happening makes me truly believe about His wonderful works.

K-Pop Music, Anyone?

Since last month, I've been dying to download and listen to Korean pop songs everyday. I think I should blame my classmate Sanet for getting me hooked into the Korean music, like her *laughs*. Actually, I have been hearing backgrounds about some well-known Korean pop group but I never heard their music before... not until now. Some music channels are playing their videos, some shows are dancing to their rhythm, I mean, it's everywhere. That's how fast K-pop (shortcut for Korean pop) corrupt our music streamline.

"I want nobody, nobody but you..." *humming* I've been singing this zillion of times every time I heard the song Nobody. I bet, you can't resist the pretty and wonderful WONDER GIRLS! The group consists of really young and talented Yubin, Ye-Eun, Sohee, Sunmi, and my crush, Sunye. Last year, the MNet KM Music Festival Awards hailed the group as the "Best Female Group", and received the awards "Song of The Year" and "Best Music Video" for their single, Nobody. They had already released 4 albums namely The Wonder Begins, The Wonder Years, So Hot, and The Wonder Years Trilogy. Better watch the video, and imitate the moves!

How do you pronounce their group name? "two-and-e-one?" "two-ne-one?" Err. I think you must listen to their songs first. Philippines, I present you 2NE1. There are two ways to pronounce their name, it's "twenty-one" (say it with more slang, twe-nee-one) or "to anyone". Either of those, fine. Wait a second, take a look at the faces above. The girl in yellow looks familiar? Yeah, it's Sandara Park (a.k.a Dara), the runner-up of the artista search reality show Star Circle Quest Season 1. How did she get into the group? IDK. Together with Bom, CL, and Minzy, the all-girl group has been booming the charts with their first single Fire. They had also released their first self-entitled album, including the song Lollipop, a collaboration with the all-male hiphop group, Big Bang. And so, the so-called "Krung-Krung" before, is now a big Korean pride!

I was browsing my old notes back in high school when I found this really really funny game. Actually, my best buddy, Jojo, wrote this one. I remember when we were in high school, we're very fond of playing Pinoy Henyo, a thrilling guess game played by partners in which one will try to guess what's the word, either English or Tagalog, posted in his forehead by asking some categories to his partner, while the other one must answer him with only three words: yes/oo, no/hindi, or maybe/pwede, until they arrive on the word.

Jojo had made this one for our project in Electronics, and me and my classmate executed the game itself.

Improv Everywhere is a group of top-secret talented agents who makes unexpected scenes in front of the innocent and busy pub. Normally, this wacky group is based in New York City, where thousands of workaholics are found. Their mission is to... uhh... mainly entertain - make people smile in the midst of their serious work. Or else if not, you just consider them as "a group of weird people who needs attention."

This is my favorite among their other missions. I pretty enjoy their musical.

Other missions include MP3 experiments, suicide jumper, surprise wedding reception, slo-mo home depot, and a lot of surprising missions you will surely react, positively or negatively.

Anime Stuffs at Divisoria. Yay!

I really had a very... (zillion times) fun time buying some of my favorite anime stuffs at 168 Mall, Divisoria, Manila yesterday! I mean, there were so many cheap anime stuffs you could purchase for a very cheap price. Duh, Divisoria, what do you expect? Lol.

This is the one I've been looking for since long, long time ago - Kurapika chain. It was actually consists of 5 rings connected together by a chain, and a pointed weapon-like on its end. Each ring is worn on each finger, obviously. I bought this one for only PhP 130. Really cheap. Looks like a Visual Kei, or a desperate rockstar.

I bought this Naruto head protector for only PhP 50, and I was like, "what the..." It was not really in my plan to buy this. Oh well, where the heck you will find a Naruto head protector so affordable like this? I found one at a famous mall around the Metro, and it costs PhP 200. No way.

Before going back to Tutuban where my companions were patiently waiting for me, I passed by a stall selling this Death Note necklace ring. I suddenly thought that I still haven't bought a neck accessory, so I unhesitantly purchase this for PhP 80 (from PhP 100). Still practicing my tawad ability. Lol.

I, actually, had a Death Note notebook that I bought last year for (darn it...) PhP 250, but now it's running out of pages so when I saw this Death Note set, I bought it too. A set has a regular-sized notebook (really similar with the one I bought for PhP 200), a Death Note DVD, and a feather pen with blue ink. All those for only PhP 160. Yeah, now I regret how I bought a single regular-sized notebook for PhP 250. Loser me.

Beside this things, I bought for myself a black polo I'll use for our acquaintance party, but never mind it. *laughs*

I wish I could go back to Divisoria after a month and buy lots of anime stuffs.

Dining at Dencio's (June 21)

Last Sunday, me and my mom were so lucky to be invited at the 40th Annual Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Awards Night. That was the very first time I will be attending a very formal event with some of the famous local personalities, so I had my best all-black suit, and got ready. Unfortunately, and the biggest mistake, that we forgot to bring our camera. Losers. :(

With us were my mom's co-member at BPM, a non-government organization in our town. They had their tickets and VIP passes, too.

Before we went to the RCBC Plaza, we had our early dinner at Dencio's Bar and Grill along Jupiter Street, Brgy. Bel-Air, Makati.

And, that was also my first time to taste Dencio's foods! Taste buds, excited. I think we were the first customer at that day so they transferred us to a private dining room.

I got so much glued with their pancit Dencio's, calamares, gambas, and sinigang na bangus, accompanied with a cool bottomless iced tea. Too bad that their signature dish, sizzling sisig was unavailable. But anyway, I enjoyed the place, and the food as well.

After eating, we then proceed to the event. Surprisingly, me and my mom was assigned to present the awards so believe it or not, we're in the national television! I think the awards night will be aired 11PM, Sunday, June 28 on ABS-CBN.

WTH is happening in our net connection at home? Two weeks, still nothing. I wish I could go back to the routine as soon as possible.

Oh, by the way, our school have introduced us their coolest 3-MBps WiFi connection! But unfortunately, it's not for free. Now I can do blogging around the campus. Hooked.

I just had my haircut last Sunday, and early this morning. I think the professors can no longer stand their semi-long-haired-like-horse's-tail male students, so they implemented the prescribed haircut in full blast. I know it really sucks because it's a very high school thing, but all I have to do is to follow. Crap.

The students' lounge is finally and officially open! But it doesn't wowed me anyway.

The canteen is flooded with new students. More tables, but can't accommodate all. Oh well, I think it's better to eat outside the campus, or eat breakfast like a king.

Just missing my friends.

We Moved Back, For Good!

After merely 5 years of living in an affordable, small yet in a good condition apartment, our family have decided to move back in our original home permanently. Thank God!

Last May 28, we started to transfer our clothes, appliances, and other useful things. Each day, we're trying to work everything that we need to settle. The bills were already paid, thank God again! Now we just need to clean the house and officially leave the apartment. I have already requested the telephone network for a telephone line and net connection transfer, but unfortunately, it's a matter of 2 weeks minimum to transfer the line so I might be inactive for these coming days.

Our original home has been painted very well. I called it our White House because, literally, everything's white - the ceiling, the wall, the doors, etc. The kitchen is still convenient, while the bathroom had been sanitized beforehand. The broken faucet, pipes, and windows can be used again. Now, we just need to decorate the walls a little bit so it will look awesome for the guests.

It's been a tiring week for us, but we're still looking forward for a merrier family life.

Addiction To Blueberry Cheesecake

I really can't stop myself from getting 100% hooked to desserts. Yesterday I went to my former blockmate's place because it's her sister Maila's birthday. It was not a big party nor a formal one, instead, it was just a simple gathering with her family, and some friends and classmates.

I fully know that her sisters have passion in baking, and so, love desserts, too. And after I'm done with my dinner, her sister offered us one of her specialty, which is now I'm really glued into it, her blueberry cheesecake.

So before I got myself at the dessert rehab, I'll share to you its no-bake version of recipe from Nibbledish:

No-Bake Blueberry Cheesecake

Ingredients

Crust
1 cup crushed graham cracker crumbs
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar

Filling
2 (8 oz.) packs cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups cool whip topping, thawed (or whipped cream will do)
1 jar of blueberry preserves
1 tsp. unflavored colorless gelatin
3 tbsp. water

Procedure

Combine all the crust ingredients with a fork until well blended. Press in a 9 inch pie pan. Chill in the fridge for about 15 minutes. Beat the cream cheese and sugar in a bowl with an electric mixer. Add in vanilla extract. Dissolve the gelatin in the water and add in the cream cheese mixture. Beat until well blended and cream cheese fluffy. Add in the cool whip and fold gently. Spoon over crust and let chill in the fridge for about 3 hours or until set. Top with some blueberry preserves or fresh ones which ever you prefer. Can do your favorite fruit topping too.

This is perfect for dessert connoisseurs and for HRM students like me as well. Try it, and I'm absolutely sure that you'll be with me at the dessert rehab. *laughs*

Finally, American Idol Season 8 will come to its denouement. After merely 5 months of searching, the competition has arrived to their Final 2: Kris Allen and Adam Lambert.

Kris Allen, a college student from Arkansas, is known to be an underdog. Actually, no one predicted that he will get a spot in the finals. His acoustic style, a boy-next-door look, and humility really made him loved by girls mostly. He started the first half of the competition with not so strong, plain performances, but have been boosted up until now. The judges called him as a late dark horse of the contest.

On the other hand, a theater actor from California named Adam Lambert, said to be the most bravest contestant Idol has ever been. He was an early favorite, not only by the judges, but as well as the audience. He is being well-known by his amazing, unbelievable rocking voice hitting those high notes. Though theatrical, judges sees it as his strong side, causing Adam to become undisputed every week, and made Simon gave a standing ovation.

Davids Invade Philippines

You maybe know very well who's on the photos above? Yeah. They're David Archuleta (left) and David Cook (right), also known as the Final Two Davids in the seventh installment of American Idol. It's been a year since Cook won the famous singing competition, and Archuleta left as a runner-up, I can still clearly remember how they had been loved by America and the whole world since Idol weeks. But the craze between these two talented guys has only just to take off.

Filipino solid fans were very lucky for having the two sensations combined to perform here in our country. I'm talking about first time here. Archuleta and Cook are newbies in the Philippines; their back-to-back concert is also their first concert outside US, so having them was like winning a jackpot prize in a Math competition.

Seriously, I haven't seen such an overwhelming welcome for a music artist like that of Davids. I mean, their media appearances were all over the place - lots of guestings, interviews, mall tours, and press conference before the big day. Their names have been currently the most talked about around the country. It's too fast like an epidemia, but in a good way.

Every time I tuned in the radio to Magic 89.9, they are giving away 2 to 3 free tickets for the concert. And I have noticed that thousands were trying so hard to pick up the phone and start racing the call with other fans just for the tickets. If you visit Magic's Facebook account, lots of fans were posting on their wall, and pleading to give them tickets too. I even tried my luck by joining to their game online. Well, it's just only a matter of finding hidden photos of Archuleta and Cook around their site. I just lose my patience after all, and decided to give up.

Archuleta has more fans than Cook, I've already weigh them. I'm a big fan of Cook, but I don't want to be bias. The two are maybe the most loved Idols by the Filipinos in this generation. And maybe, their concert is the most sought-after and biggest this year. Unfortunately, I wasn't been able to watch them live, but I'm contented of their highest appreciation to their very generous Filipino fans.
